24 Nov LATEST UPDATED COVID – 19 Protocol & Guidelines Nov 2020
ALL MPOWERLIVES PROGRAMS & CLASSES will adhere to the following guidelines:
A letter was emailed to the parents explaining the protocol and guidelines for COVID – 19 check, handwashing, emergency situations, drop off and pick up for each child.
Every child or teen will be required to wear a mask to participate in the program & classes.
At the start of every class:
All MPower Lives Instructors will wear a mask when entering the gym and will check in at the front desk. They will follow protocol for COVID – 19 check and sign in by answering the following questions below with a signature to confirm they are ok to teach.
- Are you feeling sick? (Examples include a new cough, headache, weakness, fever, difficulty breathing, etc.)
- Have you travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days?
- Did you provide care or have close contact with a person with COVID-19 (probable or confirmed) while they were ill? If yes to one or more then: Return home.
A handwash will be mandatory for each instructor before entering their teaching space. The instructor will be required to wear a mask at all times. Hand sanitizer and gloves will be used by instructor at anytime when needed.
All MPower Lives Instructors will be the ‘ONLY’ instructor with no replacements unless they are sick or have symptoms of COVID-19. A back-up instructor will be arranged before the instructor starts the program who is in their bubble so to reduce risks of infection.
For the child’s drop off to the class:
As the owner, I will be wearing a mask at all times and administrating sign-in at the front desk by the parent who will be wearing a mask.
The following questions will be asked to each child:
- Are you feeling sick? (Examples include a new cough, headache, weakness, fever, difficulty breathing, etc.)
- Have you travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days?
- Did you provide care or have close contact with a person with COVID-19 (probable or confirmed) while they were ill? If yes to one or more then: Return home.
(No parent will be allowed to enter the building to watch any sessions the child is participating in the gym location)
If more than one parent comes at a time for drop off, they will be asked to line up outside with red safety markers 6 feet apart to reduce risk of congestion.
After all questions are answered, each child will be asked to do a thorough handwash.
Handwashing Guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/handwashing/
If a child answers ‘YES’ and they have shown signs or symptoms. The parent will ‘NOT’ be allowed to let the child participate in the class.
At the beginning of each class:
Each child will have a marker to sit on and wait until the class begins. These markers are numbered in a box that is 8 feet apart from the next child.
Each instructor will demonstrate to the students every class how to reduce risks of the infection:
- Frequently washing your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds
- Coughing or sneezing into your arm or tissue
- Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact with other people who are sick to avoid spreading the illness to others.
- Maintain social distancing (2 metres) apart from another person at all times
CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT/DISTANCING MEASURES:
-Any equipment used will be sanitized after every use by the instructor only.
– Hand sanitizers will be placed at the front desk and in teaching area for use at anytime.
-All supplies: pens, pencil crayons, glue scissors will be given to each participant with ‘NO’ sharing allowed. These will be sanitized after/during class.
-Special markers/tape for ‘NO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY’ will be on the floor to keep the 2 metre (6 feet) distancing guidelines in effect with no touching or contact between children.
-BC Health Guidelines:http://www.bccdc.ca/HealthProfessionalsSite/Documents/COVID19_PhysicalDistancingPoster.pdf
-No food/drink or exchange of anything will be allowed.
– At lunch time children will be required to sit on a maker 6 feet apart from each other.
Gloves will be used to administer First Aid or in any emergency case where contact with a child is needed.
At the end of the class for child pick up:
– Parents will line up outside with red tape 6 feet apart the to reduce any traffic flow in the school.
-They will be required to sign their child out of each session at the front desk. No entry will be allowed into the gym other than that area.
– A child will not be released until the adult arrives to pick them up or contact has been made for an alternate arrangement. The child will be asked to wait where their marker is so no congestion happens in the foyer.
– Each parent will be required to wear a mask for pick up.
The location used at FIT BODY BOOT CAMP is an open gym with no public use at the time of my sessions. Only one instructor, myself and the children are in the class at the time.
Class size is 8 – 10 participants.
